This topic was initially offered as single workshops. Due to its usefulness and the highly experiential and applicable outcomes, many previous participants have requested that the workshop be extended into a longer program. The training is designed for psychodrama directors, therapists, counselors, and other mental health professionals. It focuses on enhancing skills in guiding participants, or protagonists, from entrenched, unhealthy roles to the adoption and reinforcement of healthier, more adaptive roles through psychodrama techniques.
Program Overview:
Objective:
- To provide psychodrama directors with effective strategies for guiding protagonists in transitioning from unhealthy roles that hinder personal growth to healthy roles that promote development and well-being.
Key Components:

Role Theory in Psychodrama: Deepening understanding of Dr. Jacob L. Moreno's Role Theory as a foundation for psychodrama practice.
2.
Creating a Safe and Supportive Environment: Strategies for establishing trust and safety, crucial for protagonists to explore stuck roles
3.
Understanding Unhealthy Roles: Identifying characteristics of stuck, unhealthy roles and their impact on the protagonist’s life.
4.
Exploring the origins and perpetuating factors of these roles.
5.
Directing Techniques for Role Transition: Demonstrating directing techniques to facilitate the recognition of unhealthy roles; Utilizing role reversal, mirroring, doubling, and other psychodrama methods to encourage the development of new roles.
6.
Facilitating Role Development: Guiding protagonists in the exploration and rehearsal of new, healthy roles; Encouraging creativity and spontaneity in the development of these roles.
7.
Overcoming Challenges: Addressing common challenges in directing psychodrama and managing complex role transitions.
